For 90 years, AURORA of CNY has been the only non-profit that works exclusively with people who are blind, visually impaired, deaf and hard of hearing in Central New York. It is a United Way agency of Central New York and Oswego County and Cayuga Counties.

In 2006, through AURORA:
*109 young people and adults received; employment placement and training;
*43 people received assessment and instruction on how to use adaptive computer technology;
*301 people received low-vision examinations totaling 437 hours;
*557 people completed orientation and mobility training and learned skills that would help them manage in their homes and communities; and
*More than 500 people received social work services, information and advocacy to help them adjust to their vision or hearing loss.
