Highlighting the University Area

I live in the Syracuse University area and for a college student like myself, there is a lot going on in this area. Westcott Street is just around the corner and offers a lot of unique shops and dining. Alto Cinco and Dorian’s Pizza always provide a good, inexpensive meal. Westcott Cinema is located here and you can always find a good deal at the clothing store Boom Babies.

The University area also offers a quick walk to Marshall Street. Unique shops and restaurants fill the street. J Michael Shoes, Manny’s and Shirt World are all great shops to check out. Ice cream, coffee, pizza, restaurants & cafes; it’s all on this street! I recommend eating at Varsity Pizza, Pita Pit and Faegan’s Café & Pub. During the summer is a good time to go without the crowds and traffic of the SU students. Marshall Street is a great place to go at night to bars like Lucy’s, Chuck’s and Darwin’s.

The University area is a great place to live, especially if you’re in college. It’s conveniently located 5 minutes from downtown, Syracuse University and Le Moyne College. Coyne Field, Barry Park and Thornden Park are all in walking distance. There are also endless amounts of college housing for reasonable rent prices. If you’re looking for a fun, friendly atmosphere with a “college town” feel; check out the University area.
