Kids Fun Run at the Strathmore Parks RunThe PARKS RUN is a 4 mile run/walk event sponsored by the Greater Strathmore Neighborhood Association on Sunday, September 26 at 2:00pm. It starts in picturesque Onondaga Park , goes through some of the historic neighborhood, visits the Woodland Reservoir, and finishes back in Onondaga Park. It is a great event for all ages and there also is a kids fun run at approx. 3:00pm.
SYRATHON 2010 is a series of 6 road races through city parks and along city streets, designed to encourage healthful, physical activity year-round while promoting the sights and sounds of city life. Strathmore's Parks Run is the 5th race in the Syrathon series, following the Shamrock Run, The Mountain Goat, Paige’s Butterfly Run, and the Inner Harbor 5K. The Eastwood Park to Park Run on October 17 finishes the series. Complete at least 4 of the 6 races and become eligible for some great prizes, including Technical Shirts, gift certificates, and even a Flat Screen LCD TV! So it is not too late to sign yourself up to run or walk. A registration form can be found on the Parks Run website: www.StrathmoreParksRun.com and this year you can even register on-line. Race day registration will be Noon - 1:30 at the picnic pavilion in Upper Onondaga Park. Every pre-registered entrant is guaranteed a Parks Run t-shirt and every runner will also get FREE GANNON'S HOMEMADE ICE CREAM after the race!
