Forbes released its list of Most Stressful Cities and guess what? Syracuse isn't on the list.
In fact, the most stressful cities are large, with bad traffic, high unemployment rates, polluted air and high cost of living. Syracuse has a relatively low unemployment rate, low cost of living and some of the cleanest air in the country.

Abraham Lincoln had a bad case of chronic b.o.
It's true. He didn't like to bathe because the tubs they used back then were built so small that the 6'4" President stayed clear of them until people began passing out when he entered a room.
This is just one of the fascinating facts you will learn when you visit the Seward House on South Street in Auburn.
The Seward House was, of course, the residence of William Seward, who was the Secretary of State during the Civil War, and is probably best known for purchasing Alaska, which was dubbed "Seward's Folly."

About Women Build 2007:
I was glad to hear about this story on WAER 88.3 this morning, and it is sourced from the Post Standard below. In the wake of Syracuse's mention in a book titled "The Absolutely Worst Places to Live in America" (Thomas Dunne Books, $14.95), we see just how varied and unreliable these lists can be by the publishing of another list, cited in the article below.
This weekend 20 volunteers gathered at the Wilson Building to start cleaning out 20 years of debris. I was one of them.
In fact, I spent most of the day perched in a window sill on the second floor running the trash chute. I made sure the volunteers on the ground didn't get hurt by falling items.
The Greater Strathmore Neigborhood Association is proud to host the 5th annual Parks Run from Syracuse's historic Onondaga Park. This 4 mile trek will begin and end in the park, while taking you on a visual tour of one of NYS most beautiful family neighborhoods. Enjoy the tremendous views of downtown (and even the windmills of Oneida) from one of the city's highest peaks. The event is open to anyone of any age, and rates are designed for individuals and for entire families- there will be plenty of fun scheduled for non-running participants as well.
I saw this article in the Post Standard today about an old mansion on West Onondaga for sale, and it got me thinking about all of Syracuse's old mansions, in various stages of disrepair.
